Why We Do What We Do
Therefore, the DECODE Sustainability project addresses the need of strengthening the link between HE and sustainability by providing HEIs with a suitable tool-based process to institutionalize SD at the department level and contribute to its impact.
How we do the job
DECODE HEI Sustainability Analysis
Developing a comprehensive analysis report on the current status of sustainability in European HEIs, including the definition of the topic, current measures/strategies developed, challenges, learnings, and future developments, among others.
DECODE Council and its Platform
Bringing together a community of European deans with the appropriate governance framework and a web-based platform (DECODE-Connect) on which the majority of the Council interaction and work, and the online Empowerment Program will take place.
DECODE Toolkit
Creating and collecting instruments (tools, methods, framework and approaches) to support systemic change in university departments, ultimately strengthening the academic units of HEIs’ contributions towards sustainability
DECODE Impact Pathways and Impact Roadmaps Framework
Creating a framework for generic Impact Pathways that university departments can use to advance their contributions to sustainability, and a framework for the creation of department-specific Impact Roadmaps (based on one of the generic Pathways) which will outline the specific steps to be taken by departments to promote positive change.
DECODE Empowerment Program for Impact Roadmap Design
Organizing an empowerment program designed for equipping deans and their representatives for sustainability with the right knowledge, skills and tools to design a department-specific Impact Roadmap.
